Grace House at RCS
The Grace House of RCS
The Grace House helps families facing homelessness secure stable housing by providing eight weeks of dignified apartment-style emergency shelter and all of life’s necessities.
The program works one-on-one with families through case management, providing education, increasing job readiness, and helping families save money in order to secure stable housing. 90% of families who complete the program move to stable housing. Food, clothing and household goods are available to residents. With room for up to 80 people the facility consists of fourteen fully furnished apartments, a Computer Learning Center, Gillian's Rainbow Room and Butterfly Garden, laundry room, and playground.
This year we will change the lives of many homeless families by donating items to help fill each room of their apartment, the children’s Rainbow play room with new toys, books and crafts, supply the shelter with gift cards, donate money by participating in 50/50 raffles, and even have the opportunity to go to the Grace House and paint an apartment. Please read the newsletter for updated information on the monthly theme for The Grace House.
At the September meeting our guest speaker, Caitlin Higgins-Joy CEO of RCS, presented information about The Grace House. She also explain the material and financial needs of the families. She told us about The RCS Grande Gala for Flappers and Fellas, a roaring 1920’s fundraiser on October 10 and how your ticket purchase will financially help and support The Grace House. Please contact Devin for more information.
We look forward to another sensational year of reaching out to the community and helping these families who are facing homelessness.
