I am proud to represent the Greater Belleair Young Women’s Society for our 2020 – 2021 Society year. The members combine their efforts between meetings, social events and philanthropy to help make our local community an all-around better place to live. Each year a local charity is selected to be supported by the generosity of members.
Our Society formed in February 1979 by three women with a dream to create a group for local young women to develop friendships outside their immediate neighborhoods. Cindy von dem Bussche, Cathy Anthony and Dina Boscoglia had recently relocated to the area with young children and wanted to meet others with similar interests. They placed an ad in the local newspaper inviting other ladies to join them for coffee and chat. The first get together was attended by 50 ladies and our story began.
Over the past 42 years, we have grown to about 200 members with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. One constant is our strong commitment to each other combining friendship and charity.
The motto of the Greater Belleair Young Women’s Society is “To Meet, To Know, To Grow” which we strive to live up to everyday.
